MARRIED!!

Hello everyone,
   First off I want to thank everyone who made our day possible(My mother,my bridesmaids-Victoria, Katlynn, and Katie, the groomsmen-Chris, Brian, and Dan, Vespa, Keir and Pastor Betty Burlew, Breadslee Castle, Indian Castle Church, Lisa Eklund and to everyone who came!  It was such a great day, and we could not have asked for a better wedding day (well minus not being able to find the grooms ties, and other few mishaps but it went off without a hitch).  I highly recommend Breadslee Castle as a venue, they went out of their way to make us happy, had everything set up, made sure the entire day we were taken care of and did not mind me contacting them a million times to make sure everything was set.  Indian Castle church was beautiful, and perfect for what we wanted. Lisa Eklund is more every penny we paid, her photo's are fabulous and we got her for the entire day and she was willing to go anywhere to take pictures (even with a car on the side of the road that looked like mater from the movie Cars!)

It's almost here!!!

      The big day is getting close and I thought it be helpful to mention which hotels/motels have available rooms.  There is a place called the Knights Inn, that has a restaurant and is very close to Breadslee Castle.  Also there are other hotels and motels listed on the left side of the blog. Hope everyone is excited as we are!! Happy Weddings!

Almost two week Madness!!

Hello everyone,
     We are at the almost two week madness!  First of all Apropos on Western Ave, in Albany, where we got the beautiful bridesmaid dresses, screwed us over in the alterations.  Do not, and I mean DO NOT let them touch the dresses for alterations!!!!!!! The took regular scissors to the bottom of 2 of the dresses and just cut them randomly.  The last dress was never even altered and they tried to tell us that they did alter it and let it out over 3 inches.  I don't know about you but who lets a dress out over 3 inches?? Well my mother I took the dresses away from them and then took them to a wonderful seamstress.  She is a lovely older lady from Germany that could not believe what they did to the two dresses.  So long story short if you get a dress or bridesmaid dresses from this place Apropos keep on their tails and don't let them hem or alter the dresses.  So a wedding would not be complete without a few hiccups along the way, but make sure you keep an eye on everything-DON'T ever, EVER assume that these wedding venues have everything under control. Okay Happy weddings to all and see you all in a little over two weeks!!!!

The Countdown begins!!!!

Hello everyone,
  It is exactly one month to the day where Alex and I will say "I do"!!!  So excited and stressed beyond words.  Also want to make a shout out to my cousin she just sent me her save the date for her wedding in September, I can't wait to see her in her beautiful gown marrying her best friend Scott.  Very exciting time of the year, Spring is trying to make its way here and everyone is getting married!!  So I hope the old saying is true April showers bring May Flowers!!

Wedding Planning!!! Almost Done!

Hello everyone,
    We are under the two month mark until the wedding!!! And Alex and I just finished booking the last piece to the puzzle, "The DJ"!!   We hired Philip Delacruz out of Westerlo, NY.  Everyone has been hired and now all we need to do is the fine tuning. We ordered our wedding bands, Alex's didn't fit but I was able to return it to get one that does fit.  Hopefully that is the last bump along the road, but most likely it won't be. I  want to thank everyone for such a wonderful Bridal shower, couldn't have asked for a better one.  May 10th is almost here, and Alex and I can't wait to share our day!

Wedding party photo app!!

Hi all, Alex just created a page in the Android /Iphone /ipod app called Wedding Party. Its a cool app and lets you share all the photos from the ceremony and reception that you all shall be taking :)  All you have to do is download the app to whatever device you have, and find our wedding (the name is alexaurora2014.) There is also a website, found here.

One thing we do request is that you not use flash during the ceremony. We also request that guests not block photographers (she comes with an assistant photographer) and the view of other guests. Please and Thank you!

Indian Castle Church

Hello everyone,
   We finally were able to get a hold of the caretakers of the Indian Castle Church.  It is a beautiful little historic church and we are planning to have our ceremony there!!  It is only 10 to 14 minutes away from our venue, Beardslee Castle.

P.S. We have also made good progress with the photographer and DJ(We shall keep you all informed).  We are also meeting with Beardslee Castle this month to discuss final details!!  Hold on folks because we are in the final stretch only a few months until Alex and I tie the knot!!!

Alright, I hope everyone had a wonderful New Years!!  This is the year!! The year Alex and I finally tie the knot!
We are down to only 5 months until the wedding day.  So we need to nail down a few details and hopefully everyone is getting or has gotten their save the dates in the mail.  The invitations should follow in February, which shall include directions to the ceremony and the reception. We shall keep you all updated!  Until then have a good start to the new year! May 2014 be a great year!
