Garden Wedding
April showers bring May flowers!
I know its been a while since we posted on our wedding blog, its been a busy summer and limiting internet. So Alex and I were thinking about making the theme of our wedding a rustic garden theme. There are many cute and great ideas that are affordable to make a garden themed wedding the perfect fit for us!!
For example, is mason jars, now they can be tacky but I found in these picture and some websites where they can be beautiful flower holders down the aisle, or jam's favors/or a cute cocktail glasses!
There are so many wonderful ideas with having a garden themed wedding, and think you are not limited to what flowers you can chose, if it goes in a garden its good!!
Here are more pictures for your enjoyment and check out our pinterest account to the right on the blog page!

The Busy Bride
Hello everyone,
we are still busy planning our wedding and Alex the nicest fiance ever sent me a surprise in the mail; a wedding planning kit and the Busy Brides Bible book. I was so excited, that I jumped right in reading the book and going through the wedding planning kit!!!
To the busy Brides of the world, you will need or want the Busy Bride Bible, it will give you advice of how to save for your wedding, like for example in one of the Ten Busy Bride Commandments is to, "start your wedding planning process by purchasing a three ring binder and a plastic sheet to create your wedding organizer." Which does help, Alex purchased one just after we got engaged and just a suggestion the bigger the binder the better because you will go to wedding shows, research material and that binder will start to fill up fast! It is a very helpful book which includes check lists of when you should at certain times in your planning, and budget saving advice!
The Wedding Planning Kit is just as helpful, it can be like the three ring binder, because it has organizer, that has separating tabs for Ceremony, Attire, photography, etc. Also if you haven't gone wedding dress shopping it has a pamphlet about what dress would best fit your body and give you ideas to what dress you might want! But I think the best part of the kit of all is the pocket planner which is a on the go planner that has check lists, a budget analysis, budget notes and a planning calendar!!
I recommend both of these, they will help you plan your own special wedding!! And can be found at the convenient site of amazon and if you don't feel like searching for them yourself I have included the links for them below! Happy Planning everyone!

Wedding Budget
Sorry everyone that we have not posted in a while, its been crazy with graduation and jobs (also lack of quality speed internet). Anyways we reached over the 500 viewed mark on the blog we thank you for viewing and reading our wedding blog and hope that it inspires some of your plans for your own weddings!
Well budget is usually the thing we all want to forget about when planning our weddings but eventually it will, for lack of a better expression, come crawling up and bite us in the ass! So its time to face the music and just deal with it! Alex and I started researching about saving for our honeymoon and on one of the sites it gave an excel sheet to keep your budget organized.
http://learn.bankofamerica.com/articles/savings/saving-for-a-wedding.html
It is a free downloadable spread sheet that some of you out there planning your own weddings right now, that need a bit organizing in your finances about the wedding. If that does not work for you there are plenty of helpful websites that are easy to find, but this spread sheet for some of you, might be a good start to help plan your wedding!!

Wedding Planning in progress!
Hello everyone,
Thank you all for the input on the bridesmaid dresses it was very helpful!!!
Now I know our wedding is almost two years away but it never hurts to start planning ahead of time, the only problem is to start planning the wedding everyone says you first need to know where it is going to be at, aka VENUE!! The only problem is Alex and I cannot for the life of us figure out where to have it Cooperstown, Morrisville, Cazenovia, Lafayette or Albany- We at least decided that we are going to have a church ceremony but not sure of what to do about the reception? We had one idea of having the wedding at Cooperstown, at the farmers Museum (my favorite idea) which includes and old Methodist church and reception but some family members think it might be too expensive!
http://www.farmersmuseum.org/farmers_1 --> here's the website for your enjoyment!!!
Another idea was to have the wedding at Alex's Grandmothers church which is near Lafayette and have the reception back in Cazenovia, but we were not sure where? Lorenzo Historic site or Brah Loch Inn?
As you can see we need serious help, we want a place that is not too expensive to reserve and has a historic charm, and our theme is rustic garden wedding! If anyone knows of a good venue we are open to any suggestions!!!
Also check out our pinterest site we have added more photo's/ ideas of what we would like at our wedding!!!

Wedding Show #2
We went to another wedding show last Sunday in Norwich NY, at the Car museum. It was a small event but still helpful all the same. It was fun we had to get signatures from each vendor so we could get entered into the big door prizes which we unfortunately did not win but happy for the brides who did! But that gave us a chance to talk with every vendor, some of which we most likely wouldn't have talked to! We talked to a photographer Lisa Eklund who has been a wedding photographer at Farmers Museum, she was great to talk to because she and her husband are the main photographers and her packages were reasonably priced and they would be there with you all day! Also we found a DJ we liked who's packages had a huge range on price depending on what you wanted for your event. Although my favorite vendor of the day was Gances is a catering business that Alex and I hope to hire for our wedding but we shall see! At the end of the end of the expo we started to look at the old cars in the museum waiting for the prizes to be announced, to bad that none of the old cars could be rented out for weddings. The prizes were announced and we actually won one it was sponsored by Gances catering business, one free massage session from a local Spa!!! I was really excited!!!

Wedding Dress
Hello everyone,
So I told you a few days ago that we found a wedding dress at the wedding expo and I was going to see it again at Wedding Works with my mother. My mom and I went to see the dress, and it was as beautiful as I remembered. I felt so happy in the dress and so we purchased the dress. Although my mother had to see me in another dress that was an off white dress with a red bodice/ flowers/ beading, it was pretty but not for me! It was so exciting to purchase my wedding dress! To bad I have to wait 2 years to wear it.

1st wedding expo
Alex and I just went to our first wedding expo yesterday at Binghamton. It was a blast! There were all kinds of vendors there, from Avon, DJ's, Hair/Makeup/Spa, Wedding Dresses, Jewelry, Caters, Honeymoon, etc. We found a Irish pub catering business "McGirk's Irish Pub" their chicken dishes were fabulous but Alex and I were not sold on the their seafood.
Next we went into the main hall where most of the vendors were, and I got a glass of wine to try it was great (although it was a cash bar but it was only 5 dollars for a glass of wine which I didn't think was to bad) There were models that were showing off the dresses of the Bridal Boutiques and they were very pretty although there were none I really liked in the first two we saw.
I think one of the highlights was tasting wedding cakes, they had all kinds of flavors, pink lemonade, coffee, expresso, chocolate, vanilla, red velvet, chocolate raspberry( which was Alex and my favorite flavor) and more. We also found some interesting ways to arrange our flowers for the tables, like for example flowers floating in water filled glass jars which were lighted by candles, they were absolutely beautiful.
But I think the best part of the entire expo was when Alex and I went downstairs to see some gowns that were on sale from $99-400 from Wedding Works in Endicott, NY. We stumbled across a very pretty gown, it was a ball gown with beading on the bodice and skirt with a blue sash like pieces under the breasts and the blue continued around to the back of the dress, it was beautiful.
So as you would have it I had to try it on, and it was stunning (Alex did leave the room for this). I did not want to take it off, and so I put a hold payment on the dress, so my mother could see it before I purchased the dress. So hopefully by tomorrow I might be the proud owner of my future wedding dress!!!! I know I haven't tried on that many yet but if you know it's the dress, don't mess with fate and "SAY YES TO THE DRESS"!!! I love that show and had to say it!!!

The proposal
The proposal took place on January 29th, 2012 near her house. We went to a local reserve, Partridge Run Game Management Area, located in Berne, Ny. There is a trail that leads down through the woods and comes out on a small pond. We had originally planned on taking two of her families dogs (3 Jack Russel crosses and 1 Black lab mix) but when the other two saw the leashes, we ended up taking all four of the dogs. What I had told her was that I thought it would be a good spot to tire out all 4 of them, but in reality we were going so that I could propose.
The trail was a little slick in spots due to the snow that had not melted yet and some spots that were icy. So we were slipping down the trail but it was fun and pretty walk. When we got to the bottom of the trail, we took a short break. It was then, near the pond, that I got on one knee and asked her to turn around (she had been watching the dogs play). When she turned around I asked her if she would want to spend her life with me.
She said yes. :)
